Electric Motor Wheel

An AC start sequence, that ramps up both frequency and current, starts the wheel spinning.  Speed is controlled by varying the current in the induction coil.

Maybe...

Even if the coiled coil stator does produce a strong magnetic field, electrical induction at the wheel might not provide enough power to energize the electromagnetic coils on the spinning wheel and might not vary the speed enough to maneuver safely.

It is also possible,

In which case, the pump that drive the conductive fluid is spinning with the wheel and the power to the coil and pump is provided inductively (another set of induction coils).

Good day.
