Don't Panic.
Earth has passed many long count cycles. Maybe at each turn, its severity (Ice age or mass extinction) abate progressively, so much so that the last glacial period, 1281.5 years ago was not recognized as an Ice Age but was just very cold weather.
Still, it is going to be HOT.
